Welcome to Interact Club!

 

The Club

Interact is a community service club founded in 2004 and supported by Rotary International.  Our job is to find volunteering opportunities around San Diego for you, as the member, to participate in.  All you have to do is come to meetings, sign up for events (through forums or at the meetings), and go to those events.  We do everything else.  At the end of the year, you’ll get a certificate that shows how many hours you have received throughout the year.

 

The History

Since its inception, Westview's Interact Club has had an oustanding executive board of officers, carefully selected and voted upon by the club's own, enfranchised members.

The Two Types of Events

Open Events: These are the type of events where signing up for the event means that you are expected to be there.  You will most likely receive a reminder from the event chair, but even if you don’t, you will still be expected to be at the event.

 

Traditional Events:  These kinds of events are where you must sign-up and wait for a call in order to go.  We cannot eliminate this type of event due to a maximum amount of people we are allowed to take to some events.  Sign-ups for both types of events will take place at both club meetings and on our forums.

 

The Forum

Interact’s online forum will be where event sign-up information will be posted.  All sign-ups for events will be posted and there will also be a forum where you are able to organize rides.  You can even make your own topics and post for fun. After your membership application is turned in, we will create an account for you on the forum with your first and last name as the username and your date of birth as the password (MMDDYY).  For instance, a username might be “Bob Builder” and the password “010699” for January 6th, 1999. 

 

We are also offering a trial account. If you want to check out our forums before getting you own account, you can sign in with “Guest1” and password “interact”. Click here to go to the forums.

 

Banquets

We are planning to hold two banquets this year— one in the middle of the year and one towards the end.  Admission will be free to those who achieve a certain amount of hours by a given time before the banquet and will cost a small fee to those who have not. We will also be handing out awards and certificates at the end of the year banquet, as well as watching videos that our Historians make. 

Officer Positions

Officer positions are no longer available. Positions included: Historians, Secretary of Hours, Sprit and Publicity, Newsletter Chair, and Events Officers. For more information regarding the positions and duties, download the application on the main page and then turn it in during a meeting. The application will be due on October 3rd. No late applications will be accepted.
